Most couples have things they want to say to each other that never quite find the right moment. This tool creates that moment.
The Dialogue Wheel is a structured conversation guide built around 17 sentence stems — prompts that move from observation through feeling, fear, resentment, appreciation, and hope. One partner speaks through all 17 in turn while the other listens without interrupting. Then you swap.
Open the Dialogue Wheel →It takes around 30–40 minutes for both partners to complete. It works best when you’re not in the middle of a conflict, but want to speak more honestly than ordinary conversation tends to allow.
It’s grounded in the same relational and polyvagal principles that underpin the work I do with couples in therapy. No prior knowledge is needed to use it.
If you’re one of my current clients, you’re welcome to use this between sessions and bring whatever it surfaces into the room. If you’ve found your way here independently, it’s freely available to you.
