Table for Two is a free couples conversation game you play together on one phone. Five suits, a hundred cards, no winning and no losing: you pick a card, finish the sentence out loud, then pass the phone. It’s made for the evenings when you’d both like to talk about something other than logistics.
How the game works
Enter your first names and deal the first hand. The back of each card shows you its suit, but the question stays a surprise until you turn it over. Read it, finish the sentence out loud, then hand the phone across. If a card lands badly you can swap it, but only once per turn, and a swap tells your partner something too.
Over an evening you’ll start to notice which suits you each reach for and which you leave alone. That’s not a fault to fix; it’s part of the game, and often the most interesting thing it shows you.
Why play a couples conversation game?
Most couples don’t stop talking; they stop asking. “How was your day” does a job, but it rarely opens anything, and after a while the evenings settle into a rhythm of plans, admin and screens. A game changes that without anyone having to announce a Big Conversation. The cards do the asking, so neither of you has to, and the lightness gives you both permission to say things that might feel odd to raise cold.
What to expect
Expect some laughing, a few surprises, and at least one answer you didn’t see coming. There’s no score and no right way to play. Some cards will be easy and some will sit in the air for a moment before one of you answers; both are fine. If a question opens something you’d rather come back to, say so and deal the next card. The game will still be there tomorrow.
Your privacy
Your names and everything you say stay between the two of you. Nothing is saved, nothing is collected, and there’s no sign-up. The game is free to use, as often as you like.
If the game opens something bigger
Sometimes a light question touches something that isn’t light at all. If the game surfaces things that feel bigger than a game, that’s often the point where a conversation with a third person helps.
